!$ Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner

I purchased my DC17 in 2008, and having just got off the phone with a Dyson Customer Service Representative, I thought it was time to write this review. I have never owned a vacuum quite as wonderful as this one. At the time of purchase, we had a German Shepard shedding globs of fur everywhere. There was never a day that went by without running the vacuum. This machine has been run almost daily for 2 years to keep up with 6 kids and 2 dogs (on a white carpet), and it still works as great as it did when I took it out of the box.



I have called the Customer Service line 2 times since 2008--once last year for a worn out fan belt and once this year for the same reason--both experiences with the Representatives were extremely positive. The woman who helped me today asked about the filter, and a couple of questions later verified that my vacuum needed a new cyclone part. So, within a 5-minute phone call (they already had me on file from the previous call), I have new parts being sent directly to my doorstep, and there has never been any talk of money or payment... Just like that.



I LOVE this vacuum and more importantly, I love the Dyson company because of its fabulous Customer Service. I am a repeat customer for life!

I had the original Dyson. It was a great vacuum. Then, last year, I upgraded to the Animal with the Ball. Not sure the model # and don't feel like looking it up. Did not like it one bit. Canister too small, felt weird using it, it didn't even pick up very well.... and I hated the complicated release the wand handle had on the new one compared to the original. I barely used it and ended up giving it to my husband to take to the office to use there. Ditchig the ball version, I then bought this DC17 Animal Upright. This thing KICKS BUTT! It is so much better than the one I got with the ball that I can't even believe it. It actually makes me happy to vacuum! So, being my third Dyson - I have to say it is hands down the BEST I have tried. I spare no expense when it comes to vacuums, and this is the best I've ever tried.
