This vacuum was easy to assemble except for the accessory parts or attachments wasn't easy to find where to store them on this vac. Take time to select the proper height setting and you shouldn't have problems. I bought this to vacuum carpet. It really does a wonderful job and I'll compare it to the high dollars vacs myself. It does the job which is suck up dust and dirt and hair and leaves a clean path. It is heavy. If you have back issues you may have to vacuum a room at a time and rest or get something lighter. For the money, I agree that it is a best buy in a product that does what it is supposed to do.
