We have had the Zojirushi BBCCX20 for three months now. We could not be happier with the machine. It turns out wonderful bread and it is very consistent.



When selecting the bread maker I read all the reviews I could find. Since there are only two of us I troubled over how large a bread maker we should buy. The BBCCX20 is the largest. We chose it even there are only two of us in the household. It turns out that a loaf stays fresh for a week in one of the plastic bread holders that Amazon sells. The bread here in Washington starts to mold after 9 or 10 days.



We have tried many different bread recipes. All were good but the one we have settled on is listed below. It turns out a loaf that makes great sandwiches and makes great toast. You can thick slice it and it makes wonderful cinnamon french bread.



1-2/3 cups Water

3-1/2 cups Flour (fresh but cheapest you can buy)

1 cup Whole wheat flour

4 tbsp Sugar

2 tbsp Dry Milk

3 tsp Salt

3 tbsp Butter

1-2/3 tsp Bread Machine Yeast (from jar)



For our location this recipe makes a loaf that just rises above the top of the pan yet does not reach the lid of the bread maker. We set the machine on white loaf and light crust with a normal bake cycle.



I have learned that the dough should form a smooth ball toward the end of the mix cycle. If it doesn't and has bumps sticking out of it add a little water. When touched the dough should be sticky. Judging the correct amount of water to put in a recipe is the most difficult part of making good bread. I don't know that we have ever found a recipe that called for the correct amount of liquid to make a loaf that looks good.



When we first got the bread machine the first two loves did not rise properly. Buying fresh flour and yeast solved that problem.



Since we purchased the Zojirushi we have made all of the bread we use. We have not purchased a single loaf. I strongly recommend this machine. It is well worth the cost.

We purchased the small 1lb.Zo breadmaker about 20 years ago. The only reason we are buying a new one is that they don't make the part any more that we need. Would I ever consider buying any other breadmaker after such longevity? NEVER!

If you believe bread is a staple in any good diet, get one of these. You'll have a good time adjusting the recipes and creating the best bread you've eaten in a long time. Great for sandwich bread used in school lunches (doesn't get soggy and great flavor). We enjoy a raisin, cranberry and cinnamon loaf for breakfast, finishing the top with maple syrup and course sugar. We have never used one before and now bake 3-5 loaves a week. You'll be needing a bread knife and fresh yeast. We have had no problems at all and enjoy fine tuning each version now relying on three varieties as main stays.

According to the advertisement and great reviews this machine was all that I had hoped for. I bought it in April and it worked great for about one month. Now it won't mix properly and I have had to throw out more than I have been able to use. I expected much more from a bread machine that costs this much. I had an old cheap one that lasted more than 10 years and I only gave it away because there was limited things that I could do with it and the loaf was too small. Unfortunately, I have already thrown out the box and papers on this. To say that I am very disappointed is an understatement.
